G. P. Traps L. L. C.

Start-up information:

G.P.

RBT-280 or 360

12Volt or 110Volt

All G. P. machines are test fired with White Flyer targets from Webb City, Mo.

1)     Uncrate and inspect machine for any shipping damage. Be sure all cable ties and packing materials are removed, so machine will operate correctly.

2)     No hoop on Rabbit Machine. STAY CLEAR OF THROWING ARM!

3)     When mounting machine in a trap house, be sure your pedestal is strong enough to support machine. Base plate needs to be bolted down securely to existing pedestal or floor. Make sure existing pedestal or floor is level and existing studs are securely attached. A loose base plate causes unnecessary vibration and target consistency is affected. Check base plate bolts frequently for tightness. Make sure that the magazine does not touch the trap house roof. You need approximately 42 inches clearance from top of the pedestal to the trap roof. Allow clearance for throwing arm to operate. (See spec. sheet.) If mounting on trailer make sure trap machine is securely bolted down and movement is not restricted.

4)     110v. Trap Motor: 110v trap motor will draw 2 AMPS when in use. 110v service needs to have disconnect, so power can be shut off. You should unplug machine when not in use. Lightning can damage electric box and void warranty. All motors used by G. P. Traps are D.C. motors.

5)     12v. Trap Motor: Red positive lead cable to + positive on battery terminal. Black lead to – negative on battery terminal. REVERSE POLARITY CAN DAMAGE MACHINE. You should disconnect battery leads when not in use.

6)     Excessive moisture or floodwaters can damage motor/gearbox assembly and void warranty

7)     There is a time delay in electric box, so target has time to get into throwing arm. This allows you to have consistent target presentation.

Operation Procedures:

8)     After machine is safely installed, plug power cord from gray control box into 110v power source or connect battery leads to your battery.

9)     Release cord or remote receiver furnished by G. P. Traps unless ordered differently. Connect release cord or remote receiver with release socket located on cord out of gray control box. See Release/Control Circuit diagram.

10)  Toggle switch on gray control box turns machine on and off. When turning machine off or to release throwing arm, set toggle switch down to off position and depress black release button on control box to clear throwing arm. Throwing arm will release and last target will be thrown. BEWARE OF LAST TARGET THROWN. (See figure 1.)

11)  RBT Machine is set up to load magazine with target color up. This has colored side on a left to right target. Targets can be put in upside down to change colored side. You have to adjust first and second splitter washer on clamp roller bar to correct height. Clamp roller bar is threaded for easy adjustment. A White Flyer RBT has different splitting heights, when you turn target upside down.

12)  RBT Machine can throw Rabbit on ground to chandelle to vertical teal by adjusting wing nut on throwing arm. Adjust only when throwing arm is in released position. Spring loaded target chute allows automatic target clean out for consistent target feed.

13)  To adjust target distance: At the rear of the machine is a spring knob connected to the main spring. Loosen the retaining nut on the inside of bracket. Tighten knob to lengthen target distance. Loosen knob to shorten target distance. Make sure nut on inside of bracket is tightened. ALWAYS make sure spring knob is tight. There needs to be 3 to 4 threads sticking through adjustment knob to assure spring has no slack during use. A loose spring causes unnecessary vibration.  If main spring adjustment becomes loose and falls off, your machine could be damaged. Black spring is standard on all models. Silver spring is optional for long target presentations.

14)  When filling magazine with targets or to adjust machine be sure machine is off and throwing arm is released.

15)  When servicing machine or control box, make sure throwing arm is released and 110v are disconnected from power source or 12 volt leads to battery are disconnected.

16)  Always disconnect power when not in use, electric storms/spikes can damage control box.

17)  Always operate 12 volt machine with fully charged battery. Low volts make high amps and can damage motor or control box.

18)  Post all literature informing personnel about trap machine operation before servicing or loading targets.

19)  Please call before you make any major adjustments.

20)  Stay away from throwing arm!

21)  THINK SAFETY FIRST!

22)  Call for optional trailer and remote control release.
